English Translation of Anti-Shi'i Audio Message from Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Rashad, Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula Commander
English translation in transcript form of the virulently anti-Shi'i November 9 audio message, "I am Your Sincere Adviser," of Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman al-Rashad, a commander in al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) and one of Saudi Arabia's most wanted militants. He condemns the "Rafidah" [literally, "those who reject," meaning Shi'is who, according to Salafi thought, "reject the true Islam"], reminding his listeners of Twelver Shi'i treachery in history, namely the heretical teachings of the early Shi'i preacher 'Abdullah bin Saba', who Shi'is say never existed, and Ibn Alqami, the last 'Abbasid wazir ["minister"] who, it is said, "sold out" the 'Abbasid Caliphate (state) to the armies of the Mongol ruler Hulagu in 1258 C.E. Al-Rashad also issues a threat to the Saudi monarchy, the epitome of tyranny in the region.
